  • What is EverywhereArt.Net?
EverywhereArt.Net is the online extension of a real-world "art matchmaking" service called Arts Integrity. Arts Integrity has been bringing together artists and small businesses for the purpose of arranging art shows throughout the greater Portland, Oregon region since the fall of 2005. EverywhereArt.Net is the evolution of Arts Integrity into a web-based platform where the Arts Integrity network can grow to its full potential of being a self-sustaining member-driven cooperative. (Like Arts Integrity, EverywhereArt.Net currently serves the Portland metropolitan area, with an eye toward expanding in the future as resources and interest permit.)

  • How does EverywhereArt.Net help arrange art shows?
At its core, EverywhereArt.Net is a pair of browsable "directories" or catalogs--one of member artists and one of member businesses--that are specifically designed to aid artists and businesses in finding one another for art shows. Furthermore, EverwhereArt.Net will provide an ever-increasing array of tools and tips for setting up successful art shows, as well as a forum where community members can enjoy the benefits of interacting with one another.

  • What type(s) of businesses have EverywhereArt.Net art shows? (Are we talking galleries and museums here?)
Arts Integrity and now EverywhereArt.Net are tailored to serve segments of the business community that are not directly related to art. EverywhereArt.Net does not seek to replace or duplicate the process artists and galleries go through to form relationships, or to compete with businesses whose primary trade is in art. EverywhereArt.Net's goal is to complement the art "establishment" by promoting art visibility within a broader swath of the community. As such, EverywhereArt.Net is directly aimed at facilitating the art patronage by "non-art" enterprises. Typical EverywhereArt.Net business members include coffee shops, bar/restaurants, retail establishments, professional offices, day spas, and the like. The bounds are not limited, but what most participants--artists and businesses alike--find they have in common is a connection to real-world locales and populations; essentially, grounding in their communities. For the purpose of EverwhereArt.Net, any business offering this combo of space and audience constitutes a potential artshow Venue.

  • So then is EverwhereArt.Net a tool for selling art or not?
Indirectly. EverwhereArt.Net neither prohibits nor promotes art sales. EverwhereArt.Net facilitates arranging the presentation of art. How an artist and/or venue choose to make use of that visibility is entirely up to them (beyond the scope of EverwhereArt.Net's service). While certainly a less tangible relationship than the strict buying and selling of works, the cooperation of artists and "non-art" businesses can still be quite rewarding in its own right. The artist gets the benefit of access to a display space and a pre-recruited audience and all the opportunities that come with it, while the business is able to present itself more aesthetically and be associated with the support of the arts. But beyond even the trade of these intangible assets, it is often simply a proprietor's altruistic passion for the arts that leads them to want to surround themselves with art and share the fruits of their establishment and clientelle with those who create that which they appreciate. By the same token, many artists are satisfied directly by the sense that supporting local business translates into strengthening the fabric of their community.

  • How do I create my own listing?
For now, we have not yet created an online form you can use to set up your own profile. We plan to add this feature in the next major revision of this site. In the meantime, the good news is that you get personalized assistance from us to help set you up:

Step 1. To get started, look around and start to get an idea of what you want your profile to look like.
Step 2. Use the ABOUT page form or send an email to join@www.EverywhereArt.Net to let us know you want a profile. (The most important two things to get started are the profile name you want to use, and 3-8 sample images to showcase.)
Step 3. We will send you a temporary link to a preliminary profile for you that is hidden from public view. We will work with you to customize it to your taste.
Step 4. When the profile looks the way you want, let us know and the profile will be activated and become part of the global EverywhereArt.Net listing.

When ability to maintain your own profile is added, you will be notified by email and a login id and password will be sent to you to access your personal data.

  • Is there a formal contract for art shows?
No, there is no official EverywhereArt.Net contract for art shows. Final terms and conditions, and the means of expressing them, are ultimately up to artists and venues. For an art show agreement template, see the Resource page. You will find a document there that has been used successfully in the past to lay out basic expectations of art show parties. However, you are welcome to pursue whatever arrangements work best for you.

  • How is "Size Range" used?
"Size Range" is a way to get a handle on how small to how large a given artist's pieces span. This helps create a clearer expectation of an artist's work that is difficult or impossible to convey using simple online images alone. Two entries are used, in the traditional hh"xww" format. The lower entry lists the height and width of the smallest piece of art (including any framing) an artist might consider displaying, and the higher entry the largest.

There are two ways to SEARCH by size. One is by general size or size range. To do this, you specify SMALL, MEDIUM, LARGE or XLARGE, or some combination in the search window. Artwork smaller than 24 total inches in combined H+W will be considered SMALL for the purposes of EverywhereArt.Net, 24-44 is MEDIUM, 44-72 is LARGE, and over 72 is XLARGE.

If you specify a heightXwidth combination to search for, EverywhereArt.Net will add the height and width together to determine the size catagory according to the above ranges and return any artists that list art in the matching range.

If you are looking for exact dimensions, check the "Exact Match" button next to the SEARCH text.
